The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway, in conjunction with the North Cotswold Branch of CAMRA, is holding its fourth Ale and Steam weekend on the 19th and 20th May at Winchcombe.  So why not enjoy a pint or two in the beautiful surrounds of Winchcombe station after travelling through the glorious Cotswold countryside from Cheltenham Race Course or Gotherington stations?

Full details will be available soon but we can confirm :-

  • Up to 24 beers will be available, many of these local to Gloucestershire*.
  • Hot and cold food, tea / coffee and soft drinks will also be available in the Coffeepot Tearoom and on the trains.
  • The bar will be open from 1100 until 1930 on the Saturday and 1600 (subject to beer availability) on the Sunday.
  • Free entry to the festival with a valid train ticket for the day of your visit, or entry by platform ticket at Winchcombe Station.
  • Special late trains back to Gotherington and Cheltenham Racecourse on the Saturday evening.
  • Spacious surroundings where you can relax, enjoy your beer and watch all the action on the rails. In the event of wet weather undercover accommodation will also be available.

Our usual train ticket prices apply and there is plenty of FREE parking at Cheltenham Race Course Station. There is only limited parking at Winchcombe Station

Something different this year! If you want a break from the real ale, you can travel on a classic bus from Winchcombe to Toddington where you can join our diesel rail car for a round trip to Laverton (see ticketing requirements on the website) and even have a snack in the Flag and Whistle tea room.

And new for 2012 we are delighted to announce, again in conjunction with our friends from the North Cotswold Branch of CAMRA, the first Autumn Ale & Steam weekend will take place over the weekend of the 15th / 16th September at Winchcombe. More details soon!
